But it’s Christmas! And never ones to waste an opportunity to eat, drink, and be merry, we at FOMP will be throwing our annual Carols in the Park event at 2pm on Saturday December 17th 2016.

There will be music, mince pies, and mulled wine, and the chance to spend a magical afternoon with friends and neighbours.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Mountsfield Park Improvements – Design Workshop Meeting Notes 18/01/2014

BDP/Lewisham Council, Mountsfield Park design workshop 18-01-2014

BDP/Lewisham Council, Mountsfield Park design workshop 18-01-2014

Preliminary design layout  agreed last Saturday for the Mountsfield Park community garden and new park cafe – Lewisham Council and their design consultants BDP invited local people that had previously expressed an interest in the Mountsfield Park community garden to a design workshop yesterday at Hither Green Baptist Church. BDP presented a sketch plan showing a community garden, new cafe building, refurbished children’s play area, orchard, wildlife area etc. The proposed general arrangement is  based upon meeting the needs of the local community, results of previous consultation phases and what can be best achieved with the existing budget. The proposal is to provide a new 90 sq/m cafe building (including toilets) made from 4 shipping containers. Estimated completion of the  improvements is by the end of 2014. The scale of each of the proposed improvements is still indicative. A sketch site plan of the community garden will be issued by Lewisham Council/BDP in the near future for further consultation.

Friends of Mountsfield Park Community Garden Meeting – 13 November

The next Friends of Mountsfield Park meeting will be at 7pm on Wednesday 13th November. It will be held at Hither Green Baptist Church, Radford Road.

The meeting will be with the council and its contractors BDP.

The meeting will specifically be about the community garden, in particular discussion of an acceptable design showing how the community garden will work in relation to the rest of the park – ease of access, paths, fences, gates and possibly the café, and we will discuss this design with BDP at the meeting.

If you are in any way interested in getting involved in the community garden please do come along!
